The Lakes Area Dog Park in a partnership with Lake Okoboji United Methodist Camp built a dog park on the south campus of the Methodist Camp property. The design of the six-acre dog park allows two dog areas. One for large dogs and one for small / timid dogs.
The dog park has been designated as a community need for some time. Benefits are great for a safe place to exercise dogs. The year round residents, summer residents, tourists and summer guests all benefit from the park. |

This is not a city park. Everything we have completed so far is because of donations given and countless volunteer hours. In 2017 we put in watering stations with brick pavers. In 2018 we covered the entrance, planted 15 shade trees, added a layer of crushed concrete to the parking lot and smoothed out rough patches of ground. In 2019 we built our first gazebo and play equipment! Our community is using the dog park daily, in all sorts of weather. Thanks to your support the Lakes Area Dog Park is going strong.

WALK
All of our dogs know the basic words like food, treat, and walk. Would you like your dog's new favorite key words to be Dog Park? The Lakes Area Dog Park is a place where dogs can meet their friends, play, run, rest, and have fun. If dogs could talk they would agree. If you would like your dog to learn a new phrase, you can go to the donation page to help out. Thank You!
